a streetcar named desire by tennessee williams

One of my resolutions is to read more classics. I’ve done pretty well so far in my 27 years but it’s not wrong to want to read more.Blanche DuBois has left her home to visit her sister, Stella, in New Orleans. Blanche has very high standards and is disappointed with Stella and her husband, Stanley’s, life. Unfortunately, Blanche has secrets that Stanley is too pleased to discover.

I knew the story because I watched the movie a few years ago. It’s still a great play though. Sometimes, plays are difficult because they’re told through dialogue only but Williams is really good at characterization and telling a story. The play hits you just as hard as when you see it in person which is how plays should be. A good start to my reading resolution.
