I love Peggy Carter. She’s one of the reasons I love Captain America: The First Avenger so much. And I have been waiting for more of her story and now it’s finally here!
After World War II, Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) is working as a glorified secretary at the Strategic Scientific Reserve. Weapons manufacturer, Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), is accused of selling weapons to the enemy and has disappeared. Carter is asked by Stark to clear his name and must balance her two jobs.
Oh, I love this. I’m actually sad that it’s only a short 8-episode series because I could watch Atwell as Peggy for years to come. It’s interesting to see how she deals with the sexism and such because of the time and it can be frustrating to watch but since she is focused on fighting it, you can’t help but be inspired. The action scenes were crazy. I love spy stories and Carter’s helper, Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy), also Stark’s butler, is perfect. I can’t wait for more but really, make this a yearly thing, ABC.
