Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve definitely heard Meghan Trainor’s hits, “All About That Bass” and “Lips Are Movin'”. I love them so it was no brainer to pick up her CD.
What I find refreshing is that her lyrics are positive, even when discussing cheating boyfriends. She sings about things girls want to hear: that we’re all beautiful and deserve the right kind of guy. So there’s that. She has a good voice when singing ballads, otherwise it’s more freestyle rap-based which works for the style of the album. There’s dance tracks and I loved all the ukulele I heard! Also, I appreciate the old school Motown sound on most songs. Yeah, I may be a bit obsessed right now. It’s such a good CD.
Favorite songs: “Title”, “Walkashame”, and “Close Your Eyes”
