younger: pilot

Sutton Foster’s latest TV venture.

Liza Miller (Foster) is a recently divorced mother who is trying to get back to working. When it becomes clear that her age might be a factor hindering her employment, her friend, Maggie (Debi Mazar), suggests that she says she’s 26. She is then hired as an assistant for a publishing company and begins a relationship with a younger man, Josh (Nico Tortorella).

So cute! I really love Foster and wish Bunheads had been given more of a chance. Her character is so likeable and despite being the age Liza is pretending to be, I feel more like her at 40. Because really, as much as I love social media, some of the over-reliance on it by my generation is baffling to me. The supporting cast is fantastic, even Hilary Duff who I’m not the biggest fan of. Unfortunately, I know there will probably be some negative event in the future but for now, I hope Liza’s secret can remain that way!
